A trip to Pretty Hard in Charlottesville is a visit to a creative wonderland of concrete. While wandering through this treasure trove of durability, we noticed some multi-colored cast blocks that looked like the strata of an archaeological dig. Alexander explained that the blocks were composites of leftover concrete used in different projects throughout any given day. The idea for the bar was born. Our bar is constructed of many such blocks, with a thick, polished concrete top. The drink rail is made of ball bearings set into the concrete.
